Highlights for the Last Five Years

2022 represents the 35^th anniversary of successful operations for The MEARIE Group. We’ve prepared the following corporate highlights to recognize performance over the most recent five years – since the time of our last corporate milestone in 2017, when we recognized our 30^th anniversary. Our accomplishments for these past five years, and particularly the last two, have taught us much about deploying the qualities of resilience, grit and optimism to the issues and challenges we have faced.

Over the course of these last 35 years, we have consistently embraced a spirit of cooperation with and commitment to Ontario’s energy sector. The outcome has demonstrated accomplishments that go beyond the original premise for MEARIE. We’ve provided risk solutions that satisfied the needs originally identified in the late 1980s, and over the years we’ve expanded and built an entity successful in both scope of offerings and scale of impact. One that has delivered 35 years of performance and success. Further, one that is making the adaptations essential to support our evolving clients, environment, exposures and more. Here’s to the future.

Launch of new/separate Underwriting Groups: Allow Members to insure risks not possible to be insured through either the broader insurance marketplace or MEARIE’s other Underwriting Groups
2021 Rating Strategy: A significant premium reduction applied to 2021 Member rating
The launch of our newest programs Virtual Healthcare and Retiree Health and Dental have been well-received by Group Benefit clients

Successful implementation of a new business handling system to support property/casualty administration needs
Implementation of multiple technology programs (CRM system, Training registration tool), including the launch of the new MEARIE website

The first year in the 2019 – 2021 underwriting period and with all active Members continuing as subscribers
Full review of the Comprehensive Liability insurance policy wording, including wording for Privacy, Cyber & Network Security Liability and enhanced Directors and Officers Liability insurance
MMI made significant progress in the Group Benefits System automation activities: Completed the build of client user functionality and successfully trained 70% of LDC clients
